Course Development
Name of Assignment:
Course Outline Assignment: Course Development
Week's Summary:
For this past week, I think my body has still been on Spring Break. I am slowly getting going again. I have started working on my Course Development for this course. I am creating a course in Blackboard through Coursesites. I am looking forward to creating this course. At first I thought it was going to be really hard and just a big pain but as I have started working with it I find it rather easy.
Item of Interest:
My item of interest this week is the Course Development. I have to create this course and so far it seems to be coming along quite nicely.
Problem or Concern:
My issue at this point is making sure I have every folder viewable. I know we only have one folder that we actually have to put content into but I'm not sure how the quizzes are supposed to be. Do we just create a folder for them? Do we have to create each quiz, but not put questions in them? Also, I was wondering if we have to put our objectives in each of the Module folders. I wasn't sure on this one either.
Kaylee,
ReplyDeleteEach button on your navigation menu must have something inside in order for it to be viewable. However, only your lessons & materials should have actual real content. Inside that button should ONLY be a folder for the module you are developing. Therefore, no objectives for every module, because only one module will even be within the lessons & materials. I had this same questions until I viewed a YouTube video he made. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFAMDdXPHNg&feature=youtu.be
It answered most of my questions. I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Miranda P
Kaylee,
ReplyDeleteMy body is still in spring break also! I was worried about this project also but once I started putting things in my course it seemed pretty easy. I just hope I am doing it right. As far as your question goes, I had the same question until I watched the youtube video that Miranda has provided for you. I hope the video helps!

Kaylee,
ReplyDeleteI followed the same format at Dr. Gale's 308 class. I made it look very similar in the module introductions, tabs, and links. You can make a content folder that would contain the quizzes and tests. I made a content folder with them in it and when you want to make a link to the specific self test, create a course link and choose the test from there. It will make a link to that specific test. Also, when you make a test, make sure you click the box to make it available to participants, otherwise it will not show up. I am not saying mine is perfect or an expert like Dr. Gale, but if you would like to look at mine, send me an email through blackboard and I will send you an invite to check it out.
Kaylee,
ReplyDeleteAt least you had spring break! I used my spring break catching up with my work :-) I do have the same concern though, but I email Dr. Gale as often as I need to, and he is very good at getting back to me with an answer. I also email Glenn very often, and he is very good in giving me very explicit descriptive instructions. I would recommend for you to email Dr. Gale or any of us if problem arise, you really don't to fall behind and that's always been my biggest this semester.
