Course Development

Name of Assignment: 

                Course Outline Assignment: Course Development

Week's Summary:

               For this past week, I think my body has still been on Spring Break. I am slowly getting going again. I have started working on my Course Development for this course. I am creating a course in Blackboard through Coursesites. I am looking forward to creating this course. At first I thought it was going to be really hard and just a big pain but as I have started working with it I find it rather easy.

Item of Interest:

            My item of interest this week is the Course Development. I have to create this course and so far it seems to be coming along quite nicely. 

Problem or Concern:

            My issue at this point is making sure I have every folder viewable. I know we only have one folder that we actually have to put content into but I'm not sure how the quizzes are supposed to be. Do we just create a folder for them? Do we have to create each quiz, but not put questions in them? Also, I was wondering if we have to put our objectives in each of the Module folders. I wasn't sure on this one either.  

Engagement

Name of Assignment:

          Course Outline Assignment: Student Engagement

Week's Summary:

         This week we were supposed to finish up our course outline so we can send it in to get feedback for it is actually due for a grade. I have been working constantly all week on this outline, trying to finish it up. Other than the outline we are supposed to create an account with course sites. I have tried that but haven't been successful because my internet would mess up when I tried. This will be something that I do hopefully a little later today or tomorrow.

Item of Interest:

         I have noticed that in every module I have tried to include a video, reading material, and student interaction. I have done this in hopes of involving all students and getting them actively engaged in the course.

Problem or Concern:
     
         At this point I do not have any major problems. I feel much better about my outline after the meeting we had last week. Also, I feel like the module development will be easier than what I was originally thinking.

Community and Collaboration

             Course Outline Assignment 3: Community and Collaboration

Week's Summary:

             This week I feel like my outline is coming together finally. We worked on Community and Collaboration this week. We are supposed to set up the environment for our course. Also, this week I started adding more details to my outline and am starting to feel much better with it.

Item of Interest:

           My main focus right now is adding the information for lectures and reading that I will add in the module that I will create. As well as the assessment I would like to include in this module.

Problem or Concern:

            My concern is with finding adequate information for lectures and readings in the module that I have to create.

Assignment 2

          Course Outline Assignment: Assessment

Week's Summary:

         My week has been a slow week. I have to admit that spent as much time on this project as I should have. However, I know that I will put up some of  my slack this next week. We were working on Assessment and objectives this week. 

Item of Interest:

         I  have still not decided which Module to create. My big assessment that I will have in this course will be a portfolio at the end of the semester, which it would not be a good Module to create because it is not an internet based project.  

Problems or Concerns:

          My biggest concern is that my Assessments will be effective and that I can actually do this course how I  had originally imagined. As I've been working on it I have noticed that I am  having to rethink things because it would not have worked the other way.

Blog Assignment 1 - Analysis

Name  of Assignment:

     Course Outline Assignment 1: Analysis 

Week's Summary:

     This week has been a busy one. I have been thinking about what I could possible come up with in a 15 week course. On top of thinking about a topic I have had quite a few assignments due this week. Sometimes taking 6 classes has its draw backs but I will manage! It has defiantly taken all week to come up with my topic for my course outline; however, I believe that it will be a really good course.

Item of  Interest: 

     My course will be B&W Film Photography from Capture to Print.I have taken a course similar to the one I plan on teaching. Therefore, my item of interest reflects what I liked the most about the class. The portfolio project will be due at the end of the semester. It will be considered the "big" project. My course will be a face to face course because it will make it easier to help my students better understand the concepts involved in this class. The portfolio at the end of the semester will help me to see what skills my students obtained from the course. 

Problem or Concern:

      So  far I believe that I need to come up with more goals for this course. However, I am having issues coming up with more right  now. I also hope that they are not too specific. These are the ones that I have so far. Any advice would be great.

·         Learn the difference between film and digital photography.

·         Learn how to use a camera in manual mode instead of automatic.

·         Identify what steps in takes to chemically create a printed B&W picture.
